| Mengucapkan dua kalimat syahadat di mesjid Agung Ummul Qura |
WAJOTERKINI.COM --- Salah seorang warga negara asing, Timothi Stepan Jakson, yang bekerja disalah satu perusahaan bergerak pada pengelolaan Minyak dan gas (Migas) di kabupaten Wajo, memeluk agama Islam.
Pria kelahiran RS Wordsley Inggris 15 November 1983 lalu itu, disaksikan puluhan ummat islam mengucapkan dua kalimat syahadat di mesjid Agung Ummul Qura, Jalan Mesjid Raya Sengkang, Kabupaten Wajo melalui bimbingan langsung Anregurutta (AG) Prof.Dr. H. Rafii Yunus Maratan.
Tak hanya memeluk agama Islam, pria yang akrab disapa Mr Tim itu kembali melaksanakan salah satu sunnah Rasul, yakni Ijab Qabul (Menikah). Bule asal Inggris inipun resmi mempersunting gadis asal Wajo yang diketahui bernama Yulianti putri dari salah satu anggota Polres Wajo.
Wanita yang dinikahi Mr Tim merupakan dara kelahiran Paoramba, 31 Desember 1984 silam, yang kini berdomisili di BTN Ambo Masse, Sengkang. Yuli, ia biasa disapa resmi menjadi istri Mr Tim, Minggu 14 Februari lalu di mesjid yang sama dimana sang suami mengucapkan dua kalimat Syahadat pertamanya.
Langkah Mr Tim memeluk agama Islam dan menikahi wanita Kota Santri itu, mendapat apresiasi positif dari berbagai kalangan, salah satunya dari salah seorang tokoh muda Muhammadiyah, Hasbi Abbas.
“Syukur Alhamdulillah atas nikmat Hidayah dari Allah SWT yang diterima Mr Tim. Semoga dapat menjalankan kewajiban sebagai seorang muslim dan tugas kita sebagai saudara muslim membantu yang Muallaf, terutama dalam pelaksanaan ibadah mahdah dan pengamalan nilai Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya,"katanya.
Dijelaskan pria yang juga salah satu Dosen di perguruan tinggi itu, karena sebagai seorang muallaf, sudah menjadi hal yang pasti masih memiliki kadar pengetahuan yang lemah atau rendah, sehingga dibutuhkan bimbingan yang intens dan itu merupakan tugas kita bersama.(wt-fir)
